lant.  Some cactus need water every 4 weeks.  At the other end of the spectrum, some ferns need a touch of water daily.  With the exception of water plants, you can rot the roots of most plants by overwatering.  Here are some tips about watering.

1. Get a feeling for the weight of the pot.  When the pot feels light then its time to water.

2. Feel the soil an inch or two below the soil line.  When it feels dry then its time to water.

3. If you have a container that is large, you can plant smaller vines on top and when they start to wilt, its time to water.

4. Obtain a watering meter to use along with the above methods.  Never rely 100% on the meters they are not always reliable.
