Winter Moth Damage Treatment
Winter moth can cause a lot of damage to trees in the early spring. However, there are measures we can take to help prevent and minimize the impact of the damage.
After the damage has occured the tree must send out new leaves. It can not afford to take the summer off from havi
ng leaves. The leaves make the food for the tree to get through the upcoming winter and into the following spring.
Be sure the area around the tree has nice loose soil, is well mulched and is given adequate water. You can have the soil tested as well for how good it is. If you are not on a spraying program its a good idea to have your trees sprayed organically early in the spring to help prevent the damage. Some damage may still occur but it will not put the tree through so much stress.
